Library Automated System


The Library is the storehouse of knowledge. It had been instituted as a vital support system to provide continuously for the reading needs of students, faculty and the community. Effective utilization of the library facilities and services will help the students to succed in his academic life.


This library weblog is desinged to provide the student with some general information about the SLUC Main Library its set-up, service hour's, Library regulation, as well as other library-related information

V. STEPS TO FOLLOW IN BORROWING BOOKS

When borrowing library materials from the different sections in the library, the following steps should be followed:
Verify fro the OPAC or card catalog if the book/library material you need is available in the library.





VI. HOW TO ACCESS MATERIALS IN THE DIFFERENT SECTIONS IN THE LIBRARY


CIRCULATION/MAIN SECTION:

Books in this section may be checked out starting 12:00 p.m. and must be ed the following day. A maximum of three (3) books may be leaned for a day. Fiction books may be borrowed for one (1) week. For an overdue book in the Circulation, a fine of P2.00 for the first hour and P1.00 for every succeeding hour, including Saturday, Sunday and holidays, shall be charged to the student. In no case, however, shall the fine exceed P10.00 a day.

REFERENCE SECTION:

Materials in this section are consulted for specific information such as encyclopedia, dictionaries, atlases and other. These are for strictly room use and photocopying purposes only. Borrowing for overnight is not allowed.

FILIPINIANA, ASIANA, RIZALIANA SECTION

These books may be checked out for overnight use starting 3:30 p.m. and should be returned not later than 8:30 a.m. the next day.

For an overnight book that is not returned on the next day, a fine of P4.00 for the first hour and P2.00 for every succeeding four including Saturday, Sunday and holidays shall be changed to the students. In no case, however, shall the fine exceed P20.00 a day.

AUDIO - VISUAL SECTION:

Any request from this section must be coordinated to the chief Librarian for one (1) day or one (1) week before the actual viewing or borrowing of audio-visual materials and facilities. This is to give time to prepare the needed library materials and for scheduling of the Librarian – in- charge of the section.

PERIODICAL SECTION




VII. INTERNET

Seven (7) computer workstation are available for students’ use. Reservations for internet, CD browsing, downloading, CD burning, and encoding purposes must be made in advance. Students with no library card are not allowed to use facilities.

VIII. PHOTOCOPYING SERVICES

Photocopying services are available at the lounge area.

IX. OTHER RULES AND REGULATIONS
